  Osmania University campus will soon be out of bounds as a thoroughfare for vehicular traffic, with decks being cleared for it to be a closed campus Hyderabad:  The sprawling  Osmania University  campus will soon be out of bounds as a thoroughfare for vehicular traffic, with decks being cleared for it to be a closed campus. Instead, a link road will be laid circumventing the campus and connecting the Vidyanagar-Amberpet side with Adikmet and Tarnaka. Once in place, the new stretch would ensure that commuters do not use the campus main road as a thoroughfare. The university administration, which has long been pitching for a closed campus, received a boost with MA&UD Minister  KT Rama Rao  on Saturday announcing that the Adikmet link road will be immediately sanctioned. The move comes following a request by OU Vice Chancellor Prof D Ravinder during an event at Nizam College on Saturday. The V-C had approached Rama Rao seeking the link road, which is estimated to cost Rs 16.50 crore.

 The victim was planning to buy electric wheel chairs and checked OLX online advertisement portal. Hyderabad: A doctor working at a noted hospital was duped of Rs. 2.58 lakh by cyber fraudsters. The victim was planning to buy electric wheel chairs and checked OLX online advertisement portal. He came in contact with one person Jitendra Sharma, who claimed he was having a store at Kukatpally and would supply the chairs. “On different instances the conman collected Rs 2.58 lakh from the doctor and later switched off his mobile phone,” said the police.   Unfortunate accident of a 3 year old boy with a screw penetrating his left eye after lawnmower spits out bolt !! His dad was using the petrol-powered tool which was slung over his shoulder when the accident happened. As he mowed the grass, the blade struck a one-inch long metal screw hidden in the lawn. The piece of metal flicked into the air and flew straight into the toddler's eyeball. Doctors found that miraculously the screw missed the cornea and retina. X-rays also reveal just how deep the piece of metal became lodged into his eye socket - almost reaching the skull. Doctors performed successful surgery to remove the screw. The ophthalmologist that did the operation said that they will check the wound over the coming days but they are confident the boy will be able to see again. He said: "Fortunately, the screw struck his eyeball but did not go into the lens, which thankfully has spared his sight. "However, due to the accident his eye bled badly and now is still blo

 Qawwali   This is also a kind of devotional music as they are in praise of the Allah or the Prophet Muhammad or any other major Sufi or Islamic saint.   It is composed in a single raga and is generally written in Urdu, Punjabi or Hindi. Some words of Brajbhasa and Awadhi are also used. They are performed in Sufi shrines.   Qawwali is usually sung as a solo or in groups of two lead singers and a team comprises of around eight members.    Musical instruments like tabla, dholak and harmonium are used.  The intensity or tempo gradually builds up, seeking to induce transcendental state.   It is said that Amir Khusrau can be credited with the origin of Qawwali but it is severely disputed.
