Why is the colour of a tyre black ❓


Whenever we look around, we see different types of vehicles and different colours of vehicles but irrespective of the type of vehicle or the colour, we find that the tyres are black in colour. We are so used to seeing tyres in black colour that most of us have stopped wondering why tyres are always black in colour?

It may be interesting to note that this was not always true as the early tyres were white. The rubber itself has no colour and the most frequent additive at that time was Zinc Oxide which is pure white. Zinc Oxide provided wear resistance to the rubber which is quite soft.

In the early 20th Century, it was discovered that adding Carbon Black greatly improves wear resistance. Carbon gives tyres all kinds of necessary characteristics like heat-resistant, abrasion-resistant, tougher, more resilient and to make tyres last longer. However, the availability or enough quantity of carbon Black was a challenge and several tyre makers came up with tyres with white sidewall and black tread. From the early ’70s almost all tyres produced were black.

As a result of adding carbon black to the rubber compound for tread and sidewall, the tyre turns all black. Carbon black is black material produced by incomplete combustion of heavy petroleum products and it is also used as a black pigment for printing ink, toner and mascara etc.

Gold And Silver Rates Today Stable In Hyderabad

  The gold rates in Hyderabad on August 27, 2023, have been stable. Going by the rates today, the price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold stands at Rs. 54,500 while the rate of 10 grams of 24-carat gold is trading at Rs. 59,450. As for silver, the silver rate in Hyderabad city is recorded at Rs. 80,000 per kilogram. The gold and silver rates have been slashed ahead of the wedding season to mark in a few days. However, it remains to be seen whether it would hike depending on the demand. The gold rates in the international market have been fluctuating. Over the past few weeks, gold rates have experienced a fall during the wedding season, hovering around Rs. 60,000 for 10 grams of 24-carat gold and approximately Rs. 55,000 for 10 grams of 22-carat gold.  Types of Iris Color 👁 Eye color is the result of variations in the amount of melanin, a pigment found in the front part of the iris of the eye. The lack of this pigment results in blue eyes, some pigment gives green and lots of pigment gives #brown_eyes. So light brown eyes just have a bit less melanin than darker brown eyes. All of the different shades of eye color happen the same way. Blue-green eyes have an amount of melanin between green and blue, hazel eyes have an amount of pigment between green and brown, etc. Scientists have even found the key gene, OCA2, which can explain why some people have brown eyes and some people don't. Despite some work, scientists haven't been able to find the key gene involved in green eyes. This is most likely because there is more than one gene.
